Flonidan is proud to announce the UK market debut of its SciFlo® Smart Gas Meter, the first standalone gas smart meter of its kind to be installed in the country. In partnership with IMServ, one of the UK’s leading metering and data service providers, and business energy supplier Valda Energy, the new meter has been installed at a commercial site as part of a national smart metering rollout initiative.

Unlike traditional smart gas meters, which depend on a nearby electricity meter to relay data, the SciFlo® operates independently, with its own integrated communications module. This makes it an ideal solution for gas-only premises and commercial sites where SMETS2 installations are impractical or impossible, unlocking new possibilities for smart metering across the UK.

• Compact E6 (6m³/h) design, ideal for small and medium-sized commercial applications
• Improved data frequency and accuracy for increased energy insights and cost control

This first-of-its-kind deployment is expected to pave the way for smart gas metering in up to 1 million additional UK locations previously unable to benefit from remote metering.
